HTC Android 4.4 KitKat update schedule released
Google released the latest version of Android back in October and
since then it has been a wild ride for consumers waiting to see if their
device is on the update list. Most of the high end devices that are
out there get updated to the latest and greatest software after it is
released, it is more about when the update is actually going to come
around for each one that worries some. HTC missed an update at the end
of September and since that time the company has been very good about
keeping customers up to date with the new software.
The HTC One, Silver is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01 – $549.99.
The company put up a website to show customers exactly where all of the updates are and what devices will be getting them. The website shows everything that goes into an update, what stage the update is in for a specific device and also breaks everything down by the mobile carrier. This way, no matter what your mobile carrier is, you can clearly see where and what is happening with the update for your device. This is the new plan of attack for HTC and it is a good one for the customers. There is little left to question once you see the update website.
Starting with Android 4.4 KitKat, HTC is showing what devices are scheduled to get it and for those that started to get it, what stage of the process the software is in. The main focus for most of the customers is the HTC One, but there are a couple of other handsets that are on the list and those will be updated and can be tracked as well. According to the new page from HTC, there are five steps that go into the process and they include Evaluation, Development, Integration, Certification, Push to Customer.
The last step is the most important to many of the smartphone users on the globe, but being able to see all of the steps in a clear manner is a major plus as well. Rather than just pasting a “coming soon” banner on the support page for a smartphone, now consumers can get the answers they need all in one place. This should also limit the number of questions that arise on Twitter regarding the same thing. Right now, the website shows complete status for Unlocked HTC One, Developer Edition of the HTC One and the Google Edition of the HTC One.
The HTC One, Silver can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01 – $549.99

Chinese Government Bans Battlefield 4 For Threatening National Security
It's not uncommon for some governments to censor a video game
before its release in their respective countries, but it's a bit rarer
to see a title banned outright. Germany tends to come to many minds
first when it comes to video game bannings, as it most notably outlaws
the Wolfenstein series. But even countries like Australia have banned a good-sized collection of titles, including recent ones like Saints Row IV and The Witcher 2.
The latest title to suffer this fate is Battlefield 4, and given much of the game's content, I'm sure it comes as no surprise that it's China behind this one.
In the title's first expansion pack, China Rising, the player engages in a war targeting China which has the US' and Russia's involvement. The goal? To overturn the corrupt government, and liberate the country's people.
It's probably not hard to understand why China isn't a fan of this premise. It has outright charged DICE and EA for depicting a form of cultural invasion, and the ban extends far enough to encompass even the very mention of the name. News reports are unable to talk about it, and the Mandarin equivalent of the name is banned from search engines.
Those in China who still want the game will have no other choice but to find it available online somewhere via illegitimate means, although it wouldn't be surprising if China somehow put a stop to that, as well.
Given China's well-established policies, and general policing of what goes on in its country, we'd have to imagine that DICE and EA saw this banning coming from a mile away

Femi Kuti Celebrates 4th Grammy Award Nomination
Femi Kuti Celebrates 4th Grammy Award Nomination
Funke and Femi-Kuti with son Made
Afrobeat maestro, Fela Anikulapo Kuti got his 4th Grammy Award
nomination recently and one would think this shouldn’t make any sense to
the eclectic singer especially because bringing home the diadem is
still a fantasy. He was honoured in Lagos at the Encomium White Gig last
Sunday as the edition of the show was commemorative of his 4th Grammy
award nomination. Non-compliant Femi stormed the show in a bus and was
draped in adire as against the ‘all-white’ dress colour code. His entry
motioned most eyes to his direction particularly because he flouted the
rule which his sister, Yeni complied with. He was ushered to the stage
where he recounted what the most prestigious music award nomination
means to him.
He told the cheerful audience he was excited when the nomination came
in his favour again because the number which previously was pruned to
five from thousands of entries, was reduced to four, yet he made it.
He’s however hopeful he’d bring home the diadem this time around. During
the show, he spoke about Fela’s incredible apathy to his dream of
becoming an Afrobeat star. “For six years, Fela and I were not talking
because he refused to teach me music yet he had the best qualification
to do so. Every time I went to him, he would say, don’t worry, I’m not
teaching you music, but you will know music and you will be great. And
so when I made my first hit album, after many people told me I was
better as a fisherman, Fela said, ‘I no tell you sey you go become
great?’
Interestingly so, in 2013, Made, Femi’s 17-year-old first son got
admission to study music at the Trinity College of Music, the same
school where his grand dad honed his skills.
This development gladdens Femi enough for him to make a prophetic
statement: “Made is better than me” despite his experience on the beat.
Femi also employed the medium to reiterate his support for new
generation of singers. “Wizkid was surprised when I joined him in the
studio to do the Jaiyejaiye song. And I didn’t charge him a Kobo. How
will I be asking for money from a generation I should supportsee d first foto benedict cumberbatch as a maths genius alan turin
He helped save Europe from Nazi enslavement and laid the groundwork
for the rise of modern computing and robotics, only to be arrested and
brought to personal ruin on account of being gay, at the time illegal in
his native Great Britain. While the world can’t undo the raw deal that
Turing was handed, one upcoming movie will at least give a belated
celebration of the ill-fated mathematician’s contributions to human
civilization. And it will give British actor Benedict Cumberbatch the starring role.
Fans of the Lord of the Rings saga will remember Cumberbatch from his double role as the Necromancer and Smaug in 2012’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and this year’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. He also played Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness and was Peter Guillam in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Nonfiction is in his repertoire, too: He played Ford in 12 Years a Slave and Vincent Van Gogh in the 2010 TV movie Vincent Van Gogh: Painted with Words.
Cumberbatch returns to the historical nonfiction genre in this upcoming look into the life of Turing. The film, The Imitation Game, will debut in theaters in late 2014. It takes place during World War II, when Turing worked with British intelligence and successfully cracked the Enigma code that the German navy had been using as an internal communications medium.
Postwar, he continued his research into the computing field and made several landmark discoveries. These include development of the LU method for solving matrix equations, and the Turing test, which still guides robotics development.
Turing’s achievements didn’t spare him from contemporary prejudices against homosexuality, however. He was arrested and convicted in 1952 for being gay, which was a criminal offense in Great Britain until British lawmakers repealed anti-homosexuality statutes in 1967.
Turing’s prosecutors forced him to choose between imprisonment or chemical castration to suppress his sexual urges. He accepted the latter, and suffered long-term impotence and gynaecomastia—enlarged breast tissue—as side effects. These deleterious physical alterations, combined with the downturn in his career due to his conviction nullifying the security clearance that had enabled him to work with British intelligence, may have factored into his committing suicide two years later.
Queen Elizabeth II issued Turing a formal pardon just this Christmas Eve, when she signed a Parliament-approved resolution recognizing Turing’s life work and the injustice that he suffered. The official Twitter handle for The Imitation Game released a photo that day of Cumberbatch in dress rehearsal for the movie, captioned “in honor of today’s Royal Pardon.”
The film has no official release date yet. But the script has been rate “best unproduced script in Hollywood” by Black List, which read it in 2011.

Police Foil ATM Robbery in Abeokuta!
Barely 5 days after the Ogun State Police command rescued the former Primate of the Anglican Communion Church of Nigeria, Primate Peter Jasper Akinola and his daughter from the hands of kidnappers , the command also foiled an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) robbery in Abeokuta at the early hours of Saturday.
According to the PRO of the Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Armoured Personnel Carrier policemen posted to Rounder point in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun state received a call from the security department of the Crescent University Abeokuta that some armed men were operating at the ATM Room, property of a new generation bank, located within the premises of the institution at about 1.30 am.
Adejobi disclosed to Street Journal that the policemen responded promptly and met five university security guards on duty tied down by the armed men while the robbers escaped through the fence of the school.
Though the armed robbers could not gain access to the ATM Strong Room, they damaged the main security door to the ATM room and tampered with some gadgets therein.
The Police spokesman disclosed that “their instruments for breaking the ATM included two cylinders containing methane gas, two sledge hammers, pliers, screw drivers, lighters, etc which were left behind because of police presence and recovered by the police for further investigation”.
Adejobi also disclosed that one Abdulliahi Tunde, a 20 year-old welder was arrested around the University when he was making suspicious calls on phone about 10. 10 am while policemen on surveillance were combing the bush around the school; and he has been transferred to Special Anti Robbery Squad for thorough investigation.
In a statement signed by the PPRO, it was contained that “the command therefore wishes to advise the general public particularly those dealing with liquid cash, like owners of cold rooms, petrol stations, shopping malls etc to be more security conscious during this yuletide season and beyond as the hoodlums have been barred from banks in Ogun State by the police”.
China formally eases one-child policy, abolishes labour camps
china formally approved on Saturday easing its decades-long
one-child policy and the abolition of a controversial labour camp
system, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Both were among a sweeping raft of reforms announced last month after a meeting of the ruling Communist Party that mapped out policy for the next decade.
Under the new policy, couples will be allowed to have two children if one of the parents is an only child. Previously, a couple could generally only have a second child if both parents were only children.
Buying a new car? Check price
The plan was envisioned by the government about five years ago, with officials worried that the strict controls were undermining economic growth and contributing to a rapidly ageing population China had no hope of supporting financially.
The resolution, formally approved by China's largely rubber- stamp parliament on Saturday, will allow local legislatures to decide when to implement the policies, Xinhua said.
Parliament also approved the abolition of the "re-education through labour" system, in place since 1957, which allows police to sentence petty criminals to up to four years' confinement in labour camps without going through the courts.
Critics say the system undermines the rule of law and is often used against political activists and followers of Falun Gong, a banned spiritual group.

How To Wear Leggings: Avoid These Style Mistakes
Ladies break my heart when I see them dressing that
way, why expose those bouncy package at the back, and that V thing I
always see between your legs? why? Please below are the right way to
carry your package in a more respectful gesture!
Mistake #1 Leggings = pants
Oh, this is a big one. The fabric on a proper legging should be thick so you do not see the person's skin peeking through. If you can see through the leggings, then they're probably too thin or they're tights, not leggings, and tights are NOT pants. In fact, it's a good rule of thumb to wear leggings as if they are not pants as well. Cause guess what? They're not.
Mistake #2 Tight top + tight bottoms
Many women try to coordinate leggings with cropped or tight, fitted tops. No, thank you. No matter how great you look from the rear, balance and layering are important when it comes to wearing leggings well. Let's think back to Mistake #1 and remember that leggings are more like tights than pants. Balance out form-fitting leggings with looser, roomier tops, sweaters, or tunics.
Mistake #3 The walking anatomy lesson
If we wanted an anatomy lesson, we'd go buy ourselves a Female Anatomy Doll, not go to the mall looking for women making Mistake #3. Wear leggings with longer shirts, tunics, or a short dress. Think mid-thigh length or, at the shortest, right below the hip and cover that rear.
Mistake #4 Disco revival
While there is probably some woman out there who can rock some silver, gold, or high-gloss leggings, let's all assume we're not her. When it comes to leggings, steer clear of the shine, which can show bulges or create them even where there are no bulges. Stick to opaque, shine-free leggings.

Stephen Keshi: Off the shoulders of a disappointing 2010 World Cup, Nigeria turned to one of their legends to help turn around the program. Keshi came in with a strict approach that initially turned off some of the team’s European-based stars, but eventually they began to buy in, and this year it culminated with the Super Eagles winning their first African Cup of Nations since 1994. Nigeria also qualified for the World Cup.

Why Do Women Feel That Sex Is All A Guy Wants?
I dont know if anyone else has noticed it... but women think they have
guys all figured out... give him spartacus-like sex, and he becomes your
loyal puppy.
My past girlfriend always had this sick habit of asking me for stuf whenever we were having sex and I was at expulsion point.. girls always feel guys owe them everything, and all they owe the guy is to scream as loudly as possible during the corpulation process.
Now my question is... Isnt sex overrated?... and is it worth 'selling your birthright' over?...
For me , I detest being blackmailed with sex, and have many times stopped in the middle of it immediately I sense the girl is wielding it over me like some sword of damocles..
State your opinion.

Governor Oshiomhole Survives A Car Accident
Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole survived a motor accident at Ewu Village
along the ever-busy Benin-Auchi road in Edo State at about 9.45am
Saturday, 28th December 2013 on his way back to Benin City from his
Iyamho Village. The incident occurred at about 9.45am at Ewu, in Edo
Central Senatorial District, when a Peugeot J5 Bus filled with tomatoes
and plantains apparently lost control and rammed into the Governor’s
Flag Car from the opposite direction before swerving into a roadside
ditch.
Three vehicles in the Governor’s convoy were in front of the Governor’s Flag Car and had passed the Peugeot J5 Bus before it [J5 Bus] had direct impact with the Governor’s car, which had the Governor, his Aide-De-Camp [ADC] and his Driver as occupants. The Governor’s Car was badly affected but both occupants of the Peugeot J5 Bus and that of the Governor’s sustained no injuries.
The Peugeot J5 Bus was following a truck that was descending the Ewu Slope when it suddenly veered off into the Governor’s lane from the opposite direction and directly impacted on the Governor’s vehicle, apparently because of brake failure. The good story is that nobody sustained injuries in both vehicles. The Comrade Governor is hale and hearty, his ADC and other occupants of the Peugeot J5 are also in good condition.
The incident has been reported to the Divisional Police Station at Ewu for further investigation. This is to assure all good people of Edo State that there is no cause for alarm. Their loving Comrade Governor is fine, hale and hearty as well as other occupants of the other affected vehicle. The Comrade Governor is wishing everyone a prosperous new year ahead.
